Containment During Storm Damage
This home had a containment built to keep damages from spreading further. Flooding came though the main floor but soaked and broke through the top floor.
The problem with storm damages is that storm water is considered "black" and can carry bacteria. This home had beautiful wood floors and cabinets that we didn't want to accidentally contaminate as we remediated the basement. All the damaged materials needed to come up through the kitchen.
The containment also helped keep the humidity of the evaporated water away from the wood of the cabinets and wood floors. It's important to keep humidity away from wood as it will grow mold quickly when saturated.
